Heraklion, Crete's capital, is a great family destination with a good balance of history and accessibility. The waterfront, modern areas, and beach resorts are excellent for strollers, while the historic center has some narrow streets but is largely manageable. Greek island culture is incredibly family-oriented - children are welcome everywhere, even late at night. The coastal areas provide flat, easy strolling with excellent beaches and family-run tavernas that genuinely love hosting families.
