Beyond the city
UNESCO Old Town with the iconic Château Frontenac, fortifications, and charming Petit Champlain street. Feels like France. Funicular connects upper and lower town.
Ski resort village beautiful year-round. Summer has gondola rides, zip lining, beach on Lac Tremblant. Pedestrian village is stroller-friendly and charming.
Parliament Hill, ByWard Market, and excellent museums (Canadian Museum of History has great kids' section). Rideau Canal is a pleasant stroll or winter skate.
Quebec City deserves an overnight but is doable as a long day trip. Mont-Tremblant is the easiest day trip with families. Ottawa's museums alone justify the drive.
