  • Bazurto MarketChaotic, not family-appropriate

Cartagena's walled old city is stunning - colorful colonial buildings, bougainvillea, and Caribbean vibes. However, the old city streets are cobblestone, narrow, and challenging for strollers. The city is flat (coastal) which helps. Bocagrande (the modern beach district) has better sidewalks and is more stroller-friendly. Colombians absolutely adore children - expect strangers to fuss over your baby. Heat and humidity are year-round intense. Street vendors and traffic make navigation tricky. Castillo San Felipe has ramps but is steep.
