Parque Explora & Planetarium
Interactive science museum with aquarium, planetarium, and vivarium. World-class.
Colombia · Updated May 2026
Very hilly city but innovative transit (metro, cable cars, escalators) makes it surprisingly accessible.
Planning your trip?
Medellín sits in a valley surrounded by steep hills, which sounds terrible for strollers - but the city's innovative transit system is a game-changer. The metro, MetroCable gondolas, and outdoor escalators (like in Comuna 13) provide accessible ways to navigate elevation changes. El Poblado has the best sidewalks and is the main tourist base. Colombian culture is very family-oriented and children are welcomed everywhere with genuine warmth.
