Thai people absolutely love children and will help constantly. Infrastructure is basic but improving. The surrounding mountains provide beautiful day trips with planning.

Doi Inthanon and Mae Sa Valley are easy half-days. Chiang Rai is a full 12-hour day — consider an overnight stay instead. Rent a car or hire a private driver ($40-60/day).
