Dakar is West Africa's most vibrant city and a growing Delta destination. Senegalese culture is incredibly welcoming to families - the concept of 'teranga' (hospitality) is deeply ingrained. However, the city is very difficult for strollers. Sidewalks are broken or nonexistent, traffic is chaotic, and sand blows in from the coast. The Corniche road along the coast has some walkable sections. Sea Plaza and other malls offer modern environments. The African Renaissance Monument is impressive. A carrier is strongly recommended over a stroller for most exploration.
