Montego Bay resorts are family-friendly but outside them, hilly terrain and limited infrastructure make strolling very difficult.
This city is stroller-friendly. Compact strollers work best.
Montego Bay scores 53/100 on our stroller-friendliness scale. Below you'll find a full breakdown of terrain, transit accessibility, and family facilities โ plus neighborhood-level tips and stroller vs. carrier advice for Montego Bay.
๐ The Bottom Line
Montego Bay is a tale of two experiences. Inside resorts (Half Moon, Hyatt Ziva, Iberostar), families are well catered to with flat grounds, pools, and kids' programs. Outside resorts, the city is hilly, sidewalks are minimal or nonexistent, and traffic is chaotic. Doctor's Cave Beach is beautiful but sand-based. The Hip Strip has some walkable sections. Jamaicans are wonderfully warm and love children. For stroller families, stick to resorts and organized excursions.
