Punta Cana resorts are very family-friendly and flat, but there's essentially nothing stroller-accessible beyond the resort gates.
This city is stroller-friendly. Compact strollers work best.
Punta Cana scores 64/100 on our stroller-friendliness scale. Below you'll find a full breakdown of terrain, transit accessibility, and family facilities β plus neighborhood-level tips and stroller vs. carrier advice for Punta Cana.
π The Bottom Line
Punta Cana is a resort destination, and within resorts, it's excellent for stroller families. All-inclusive properties are flat, paved, and cater to families with kids' clubs, pools, and restaurants. The beach is beautiful but sand is not stroller territory. Beyond the resort, infrastructure is very limited - no sidewalks, rough roads, and no public transit. If you stay at a good family resort (BarcelΓ³, Hard Rock, Dreams), you'll have a great time. Dominican people are incredibly warm and love children.
