Bávaro Beach
Calm turquoise water, wide white sand, and palm shade. Most resorts have direct beach access. Perfect for babies.

Punta Cana resorts are very family-friendly and flat, but there's essentially nothing stroller-accessible beyond the resort gates.
Planning your trip?
Punta Cana is a resort destination, and within resorts, it's excellent for stroller families. All-inclusive properties are flat, paved, and cater to families with kids' clubs, pools, and restaurants. The beach is beautiful but sand is not stroller territory. Beyond the resort, infrastructure is very limited - no sidewalks, rough roads, and no public transit. If you stay at a good family resort (Barceló, Hard Rock, Dreams), you'll have a great time. Dominican people are incredibly warm and love children.
Seven things that actually matter when you're pushing 12kg of baby + stroller through a foreign city.
Things to do
Calm turquoise water, wide white sand, and palm shade. Most resorts have direct beach access. Perfect for babies.
See dolphins, sea lions, and tropical birds. Shows and interactive exhibits. Paved paths through tropical gardens.
1,500-acre nature reserve with 12 freshwater lagoons. Paved interpretive trails through tropical forest.
Most families in Punta Cana barely leave their resort — and that's fine! All-inclusive resorts have kids' clubs, pools, and beach access. Venture out for variety.

Where to stay
Most family-friendly resort zone. Kids' clubs, multiple pools, buffets, and beach access included.
Upscale resort area with calmer beaches, marina, and golf. More exclusive and quieter for babies.
Independent condos near the beach with kitchens and pools. More freedom than all-inclusive, lower cost.
All-inclusive is king here. With a baby, having food available 24/7, a pool steps away, and a kids' club for older siblings is worth every penny. Book resorts with baby amenities (cribs, high chairs, bottle warmers).
Beyond the city
Postcard-perfect island with natural pools and starfish. Full-day tour includes catamaran, lunch, and drinks.
UNESCO colonial district of the capital. Flat streets, museums, and the first cathedral in the Americas.
Stunning blue cenote at the base of a cliff. The viewpoint is accessible; swimming requires stairs.
Santo Domingo is a long day trip with a baby — consider an overnight instead. Saona Island is magic but prepare for a full day on boats.
It depends — Punta Cana scores 64/100. Doable with planning, but not effortless. Punta Cana resorts are very family-friendly and flat, but there's essentially nothing stroller-accessible beyond the resort gates.
