Busan is South Korea's beach city, wedged between mountains and sea. The beaches (Haeundae, Gwangalli) have boardwalks and are very family-friendly. The metro system is modern and accessible. However, many neighborhoods are built on hillsides - Gamcheon Culture Village is essentially a hillside maze of stairs. Jagalchi Fish Market is crowded and tight. Korean culture is family-oriented, and you'll find excellent facilities in department stores and newer buildings. The KTX train from Seoul is fully accessible. Plan routes carefully to stick to flat coastal and transit-connected areas.
