Planning your trip?
Zagreb is divided into the hillside Upper Town (Gornji Grad) with medieval cobblestones and the flat Lower Town (Donji Grad) with Austro-Hungarian boulevards. The famous funicular connects them but isn't stroller-friendly. Maksimir Park is huge and perfect for families. Croatian culture is very welcoming to children, and you'll find helpful locals everywhere. The tram system is decent but older.
