Shwedagon Pagoda
Myanmar's holiest site — a 99m gold-plated stupa. Breathtaking at sunset.
Myanmar · Updated May 2026
Broken sidewalks and chaotic streets, but flat terrain and incredibly warm people who adore children.
Planning your trip?
Yangon is a challenging city for strollers. Colonial-era sidewalks are crumbling, often blocked by vendors, or simply missing. The city is mostly flat, which helps, but the street-crossing experience is intense. There's no metro (yet), and buses are inaccessible. On the bright side, Shwedagon Pagoda has elevators, the Inya Lake area is more modern, and Burmese people absolutely love children - expect constant friendly attention.
Seven things that actually matter when you're pushing 12kg of baby + stroller through a foreign city.
